AH Acoustics is the brainchild of myself, Alec Higgins. I have nearly a decade of experience within acoustics and noise control and possess expertise that span multiple sectors as well as multiple facets of acoustical applications.
I graduated from Southampton Solent University in 2016 with a BSc in Sound Engineering. I further went on to pursue a post-graduate degree in Acoustics and Noise Control at the same university.
After graduating in 2017, I attained my first job in the South of England where I built a robust knowledge of building and environmental acoustics, namely specifying partition wall build ups, carrying out sound insulation testing and providing advice for remedial works while also performing plant noise calculations and specifying mitigation measures should they be required.
In 2019, I then moved back to my hometown of Birmingham to work at a multi-national civil engineering firm where I worked on much larger scale projects and further developed both my building and environmental acoustics knowledge while also gaining much more experience in project management and client liaison.
In 2020, I moved to a smaller firm in the Scottish Borders, allowing me to focus on the development of client relationships and further establish a strong understanding within multiple aspects of acoustics.
While I have a solid understanding of most aspects of acoustics and noise control, my particular expertise are: sound insulation testing, noise issues affecting planning applications, industrial noise control, architectural acoustics and mechanical services plant noise.
